Key themes

Through three major themes, the Beautyworld Summit Grasse explores the key challenges shaping the future of perfumery.

Heritage & Innovation

A heritage shaped over centuries, inspiring the perfumery of tomorrow.

In Grasse, the world’s perfume capital and home to UNESCO-recognised Intangible Cultural Heritage for its perfume-related know-how, heritage is a living foundation for innovation.

This theme highlights the three pillars that define Grasse’s unique identity: the cultivation of perfume plants, the knowledge and transformation of natural raw materials, and the art of perfume composition. Rooted in centuries of excellence, these traditions continue to evolve through research, education, new technologies, and collaboration across the fragrance value chain.

It will explore how craftsmanship, knowledge transmission, scientific research and innovation are shaping the future of perfumery, while examining the role of historic fragrance houses, growers, perfumers, researchers and the next generation in building the perfumery of tomorrow.

Raw Materials & Sustainability

Preserving and enhancing today’s resources to create the fragrances of tomorrow.

Raw materials lie at the heart of a fragrance’s identity, quality and sustainability. In response to climate, regulatory, economic and societal challenges, the fragrance industry is being called upon to evolve its practices and business models.

This theme will explore the key issues surrounding natural resources, responsible sourcing, traceability, raw material processing and sustainable innovation. It will invite reflection on the conditions needed to build a more resilient, more responsible industry that is committed to preserving, enhancing and safeguarding the long-term future of its resources.

Trends & Creation

Decoding the trends that will shape the perfumery of tomorrow.

Perfumery is evolving in response to changing consumer expectations, cultural shifts, technological advances and the emergence of new creative tools.

This theme offers a forward-looking perspective on the trends reshaping the world of fragrance, including personalisation, artificial intelligence, new generations, emotions, evolving consumer experiences and market developments. It will also give a voice to master perfumers, emerging talents and new fragrance houses that are already shaping the perfumery of tomorrow, before opening a broader discussion on how creativity, innovation and societal expectations are defining the future of fragrance.
